Ever since Sugarland hinted at a reunion during their appearance at the 51st Annual CMA Awards last November, fans flocked back to their feet awaiting everything new on the horizon for the beloved duo.

Almost overnight, Kristian Bush and Jennifer Nettles revamped their platform together with the release of their first single in seven years called “Still the Same.” Reassuring their supporters that they were back for the long haul and wanted to make this next chapter meaningful, they set out to write and record a brand-new collection of songs that they personally identified with and came up with Bigger during the creative process.

“I think it’s one of the things that music can do best. Music does it in a way that no other medium does. I think it can really speak right to the heart,” Nettles said to Sounds Like Nashville during a recent interview. “And I think, along with that, there’s a bit of responsibility. Dare I say, that it’s a calling. A powerful part of this whole album are those sorts of messages, and that it is pain into hope. Music is transformative in that way and there is a lot of pain happening right now.”
