Country Newcomer Kacey Musgraves to Join John Mayer on Tour
Mercury/Lost Highway recording artist Kacey Musgraves has just been announced as the sole opener on John Mayer’s 2012 U.S. tour.
“I can’t wait to get out on the road with John Mayer,” exclaimed Musgraves. “To be given this opportunity to tour with a musician and songwriter that I have such high respect for is a dream come true.”
This news follows an exciting week in Nashville where Musgraves had her debut performance at the famed Ryman Auditorium during the annual Country Radio Seminar. The singer/songwriter performed her stirring track “Merry Go Round” to rave reviews and a standing ovation from a crowd that included program directors, press and industry insiders. She is currently in the studio recording her debut album set for release later this year. The album will be co-produced by Musgraves, Shane McAnally and Luke Laird.
