Dustin Lynch has quickly become one of country music’s brightest new stars. After catching attention with his debut single, “Cowboys and Angels,” the Tennessee native has gone on to release three stand-out albums, including his latest release, Current Mood.

The project, Lynch claims, is his most personal to date and gives fans a deeper look into his private life.

“This collection of songs is a peek behind the curtain,” Dustin told Sounds Like Nashville during our Cover Story interview. “I don’t put a lot of my personal life on social media because I think that’s important to have something private in this life, so I’ve kept my personal life pretty close to the vest. This is a peek behind the curtain. I’m not going to call out anybody on this album, of course, but each song is something I’ve lived through. There’s going to be a lot of speculation into what these songs are about, but this is my way of shedding light on my personal stuff.”

The project debuted with two No.1 singles, “Seein’ Red” and “Small Town Boy,” with the latter hitting the top of country radio during the album’s release week.

“This week has truly been one of the most amazing and humbling of my career. This album is incredibly personal, and for two singles to already hit #1 is just crazy,” said Lynch in a press release. “I can’t think of a better way to welcome Current Mood than with ‘Small Town Boy’ being in the top spot.”
